Meetings & Committees

CLUB MEETINGS

You do not have to be a club member to attend our meetings and events. They are open to the public and everyone is welcome. The meetings are held five times per year and usually involve either a Pot Luck Dinner or a Dessert/Beverage carry-in. There is often a guest speaker whose goal is to inform us on a topic of current interest. There can also be some other program scheduled (as determined by the Program Committee). The agenda includes a business meeting portion to cover topics of importance to the club. Meeting months include September (which is the yearly organizational meeting, including Executive Committee elections if a new term is starting), November, January, March, and May. There is also an annual get together in July (the "Stump Picnic") and a special Holiday dinner in December.

COMMITTEES

All Club Members are invited and encouraged to get involved with other like-minded folks in Phelps County by helping out on the various committees which serve the Club. The Executive Committee is elected by Club Members for a one year term during the Club's September meeting.

The Club Committees

Program. Plans club meetings to include developing a meeting agenda/format and, when appropriate, inviting guest speakers or coordinating an activity or project. Coordinates the Stump Picnic and Public Forums.

Fund Raising. Develops activities and events to assure the funding of the club, including the Silent Auction.

Hospitality. Hosts club meetings and other events where refreshments are served. Plans and coordinates the Holiday Dinner.

Publicity. Provides club information for our Web page, local newspapers, social media.

Voter Registration. Engages the local community at public events, schools, and other institutions in Phelps County with the goal of registering eligible voters.
